Here’s exactly what "free" means

We're not going to bury this in fine print.

• No card, ever, to see the site.
• No commitment and no obligation to take it — you can look and say no.
• It stays private: nothing is published or indexed while it's a preview.
• It only goes live on your domain if and when you start a monthly plan.
• If you don't, nothing happens — you're not charged anything, and you keep what your site check found either way.

If you do move forward, pricing is open: $195, $495, or $995 a month, cancel any time — pick a plan, no quote to request first. The $195 Starter plan is the one exception: it doesn't carry the ranking guarantee the other two do.
